Gift design for El Lizitsky(1/3) Wooden Chess set
Chess set made of wood. The circles of the White Russians v the triangles of the Red Russians are derived from Lizitskys poster Beat the whites with the red wedge.
Gift design for a prisoner
I wanted to give a gift that would commemorate the time that the prisoner had spent in one particular space/cell. Famous people in the free world get blue plaques to celebrate where they lived/were born. These plaques are a permanent reminder about who was in that house at that time. I want to do this to the cell that the prisoner was staying in. To do this I would engrave the information about the prisoner and the time that they were in the cell onto a normal brick and insert it into the wall of a prison. This would gradually make the prison cell a memorial to the time that people have spent in it. The brick is recognizing the emotional feeling that the prisoner must have about the cell that they have spent a considerable part of their life in.
Gift design for Gandhi
I made this video as an entry into the D&AD awards. The brief was to make a 60 second film about Tolerance. The subject matter is 100% appropriate to Gandhi.

Gift design for a politician(1/2) Consequence
The paperweight is useful for any politician as they have lots of paperwork. The messages in the paperweights remind politicians of their moral responsibilities, that they should always keep their feet on the ground and not to be tempted by corruption. Encased in one paperweight is a coin with engravings of Corruption and Consequence. In the other paperweight is a bullet with the same messages engraved on it but on the reverse sides. This enables the politician to make a globe shape out of the two paperweights and read Corruption off the coin and then turn the globe over to read Consequence on the bullet. The clear plastic makes the bullet look as if it is in mid flight about to hit something. The consequence reads in the direction of the bullet which connects the bullet, movement and the message. The clear plastic also makes the coin look as if it is falling and could land either way up.

Design proposal for Brighton University Show - poster
Art schools and students with crazy haircuts go hand in hand so the two students on the poster represent the art school. The haircuts represent the two piers with one falling down and the other one on fire. (although now one pier has caught fire and the other one has fallen down and caught fire twice)

Breaking boundaries project (1/4) Chewing-gum
The silhouettes are made out of recycled cardboard so no waste is made by the campaign but card is reused. Any chewing-gum that is dropped on the card will be thrown away when the card is eventually cleaned up by the councils cleaners. This will leave a silhouette of the logo on the pavement in chewing-gum stains. More importantly the Logo being made out of litter and placed in a new in your face position will influence the public to think twice about littering. The life like size of the shape makes it compare to the silhouette of a dead person at a crime scene drawing importance to what is said. Thousands of these logos could be made out of waste cardboard and looped over lamppost and poles (so they can not be nicked or removed easily) all over the place creating a strong campaign that forces the public to think about their actions.

Design proposal for Brighton University Show booklet Collaboration with Andrew Merrit
We found a beautiful image of a mushroom cloud that was created by a nuclear test in the Caribbean. We wanted to enter this awe inspiring and yet frightening image without the judges knowing. To do this we corroded the image on the computer so that it was registered as lines of colour. We then placed old English type over the top in the same colour frequency as the image.(this represents how Brighton University uses old and new techniques of teaching). Printed at A1 the lines become fascinating and you are unaware of the beauty behind the image.

Graffiti and Fine art could not be more similar but they are viewed to be at opposite ends of the spectrum one is a pest (like a rat) and one is pampered (like a hamster).

Counting System (1/2) stickers
Placing the counting system on stickers and putting them in the street will enable other people to come in contact with it and hopefully learn it. Graffiti is an appropriate way of presenting this counting system to the public. Often graffiti conveys opinions that are different to that of the majority of people and so can be viewed as being strange or wrong. The new counting system differs fundamentally from the present one that we use and so could not be used unless everyone (or the majority) changed to using this system. This new counting system although better, therefore can not be used.

Design proposal for Brighton University open ml day poster
Pins put posters up so I wanted to play with this idea. The star shows how lots of individuals can collaborate to make something beautiful (the Brighton University logo). If the poster were put up on noticeboards and pins put on top of the poster anyone could modify its look and make the star grow into something else.
Logo designs(1/4) A+E Design Company Logo
Design coalition between me and Andrew Ferret. We both designed our own versions of the logo and when we work together we morph the differently designed logos together.
Logo designs(2/4) Proposed design for a band
The design is based on pulling petals from a flower to work out if someone loves you or not. The oval shapes were used because in medieval churches the oval was considered to be one of the most sacred shapes as it represented how Jesus was born into this world. The flower is white to show delicateness but the scribbled ball point pen that creates the flower shows; anger, frustration and feeling.
Logo designs(3/4) Logo for a Biological company
The logo represents what the company does with reference to water flowing down a plughole. They reduce industrial waste in a system that recycles its waste back into the start of the system.
Logo designs(4/4) Logo design for TBP
A prominent logo for a small microbiological firm that wanted to look strong and confident.
Poster campaign for the Suffragettes(1/3)
2003, is the 100th Anniversary of the Women's Social and Political Union. For my Final degree exam project I created three posters to promote awareness that it was only 100 years ago that 50% of the British population were not able to vote. I used this anniversary to also create a pro voting campaign at the same time.

I wanted to recycle used batteries. Batteries hold power and chess is a struggle for power.
The stamps would be used at the post office and inked up with some sort of black oil that dries in a couple of days (Bitumen). This would keep the stamp dry when it reaches the recipient. They will get a tiny bit of oil on their hands and get cross. Hopefully they will realize that if a tiny drop of oil can piss them off what it must be like to be drowning in oil.

I decided that the most objective way that food can be displayed is to show the purchaser what they are buying. This happens in the fruit and vegetable sections which is good but it should happen all over the supermarkets shelves.
Subjectively designed ugly straw wrapper
Straw wrappers are throw away items so if it was made of a valuable material that would make the public think about recycling. They would be forced to throw it away as it does not have any other use and can not be reused as all straws have wrappers already on them. This waste would make the wrappers ugly. The material is selected to put a drinker off their drink.
Subjective 500 sheet photocopy paper wrapper
The wrappers show how paper can get wasted in the office by being: cut, crumpled, misprinted, misphotocopied or with coffee stains. This proves why paper needs to have a wrapper to protect it and may make people more careful.
Awareness campaign about parking wardens(1/2)
I wanted to communicate to both drivers and traffic wardens at the same time. The aim of the project is to make the drivers see the problem from the view of the warden and vice versa.
